1. Introduction

This .AU Domain Registration Policy outlines the rules, terms, and conditions for registering and managing .AU domains through WP Hosting Pty Ltd. By registering a .AU domain with us, you agree to comply with this policy, the policies set by auDA (the .AU Domain Administration), and any applicable Australian laws.

2. Eligibility for .AU Domain Registration

2.1 To register a .AU domain, registrants must meet the eligibility requirements set by auDA. These include, but are not limited to:

•Australian Presence: The registrant must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, organization, or have a direct connection to Australia (as defined by auDA policies).

•Eligibility by Namespace:

•.com.au and .net.au: Must be registered to a commercial entity, such as a company, sole trader, or registered business.

•.org.au and .asn.au: Reserved for non-commercial entities such as charities and associations.

•.id.au: Available to individuals with an Australian presence for personal use.

2.2 Registrants must provide supporting documentation if requested by WP Hosting Pty Ltd or auDA to verify eligibility.

3. Domain Naming Rules

3.1 Domains must meet the following criteria:

•Be directly related to the registrant’s name, business, or trademark.

•Not infringe on the rights of third parties, including trademarks and intellectual property.

3.2 Domains containing offensive, misleading, or prohibited terms will be rejected as per auDA guidelines.

4. Registration Terms

4.1 .AU domains may be registered for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years.

4.2 Renewal notices will be sent 90, 60, and 30 days prior to expiration. Failure to renew the domain before its expiry may result in its suspension or deletion.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

5.1 Domains registered under .AU must comply with applicable laws and must not be used for:

•Illegal activities such as fraud, spam, or phishing.

•Hosting malicious software or engaging in cyberattacks.

•Violating intellectual property rights or auDA’s Acceptable Use Policy.

5.2 WP Hosting Pty Ltd reserves the right to suspend or cancel a domain found to be in breach of this policy.

6. Privacy and WHOIS Information

6.1 Registrants’ details for .AU domains are recorded in the WHOIS database, managed by auDA.

6.2 Domain privacy is not available for .AU domains, as per auDA regulations. Registrants must ensure their contact information is accurate and up to date.

7. Dispute Resolution

7.1 Disputes regarding .AU domain registrations are governed by the auDA Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP).

7.2 WP Hosting Pty Ltd will cooperate with auDA or other relevant authorities to facilitate resolution.

8. Fees and Payments

8.1 All fees for .AU domain registrations must be paid in full at the time of registration or renewal.

8.2 Refunds will only be processed in accordance with WP Hosting Pty Ltd’s Billing & Refund Policy.

8.3 Price changes for .AU domains will be communicated via the domain pricing page and client area.

9. Termination and Suspension

9.1 WP Hosting Pty Ltd reserves the right to suspend or cancel a .AU domain in cases of:

•Non-compliance with this policy or auDA regulations.

•Failure to provide accurate contact or eligibility information.

•Use of the domain for illegal activities or in breach of auDA policies.

9.2 Suspended domains may be restored upon resolution of the issue, subject to auDA and WP Hosting Pty Ltd’s discretion.

10. ICANN and auDA Compliance

10.1 Registrants must comply with the rules set by auDA.
