WordPress 4.9.6 addresses the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements that take effect on 25 May.
New privacy features include:
- Logged-out commenters are given the option not to have their personal data stored in a cookie
- Designating a privacy policy page and adding it to the login and registration pages
- Exporting and deleting of user’s personal data, including an email-based function to confirm personal data requests
Also, 95 maintenance updates were made in WordPress 4.9.6.
