What is an NS (name server) record and what do I do with it?

For your domain name to function correctly you need to assign (delegate) two or more NS records (Name Servers) to it.

Here is an example of a set of NS records:

ns1.dnsrecord.com.au
ns2.dnsrecord.com.au

If you’ve signed up for a hosting account, your NS records will be sent to you in the Hosting Account Welcome Email.

By default, domains registered with WP Hosting use our name servers. If you have registered your domain elsewhere or transferred your domain to us, you will need to login the client area to change your NS records to ours.

Once your domain is set to use our Name Servers, all DNS, web and email services will be hosted by us. If you need to modify your DNS after this process, you can do so from cPanel or by opening a support ticket. You will need to allow up to 24-48 hours for DNS to resolve after changing NS records.
